Drive Out Hunger: SouthEast Bank Hosts Food Drive Event For Second Harvest Food Bank

SouthEast Bank and NASCAR Driver Trevor Bayne partner with Second Harvest for a fun-filled food drive to help end hunger in East Tennessee.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. August 17, 2023 — SouthEast Bank invites the local community to join a time of fun and giving back at their Farragut branch on September 9th, 2023, from 11:30-3:00 pm. The event, a food drive for Second Harvest, will collect non-perishable food donations and provide entertainment for all ages.

All are welcome to come out to support Second Harvest with an opportunity to meet 2011 Daytona 500 winner and NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne. Alongside the food drive, there will be activities for the whole family, including a bounce house, free food, music, and signed memorabilia from Trevor Bayne.

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee is a local organization fighting against hunger in 18 counties across the region by supplying food to churches, shelters, and other food pantries. Their mission is to end hunger and provide adequate nutrition to kids, adults, and seniors. SouthEast Bank is happy to help support this mission as both a bank and a neighbor.

For the food drive, Second Harvest is primarily looking for peanut butter and other protein-rich food with a longer shelf life.

Organizing the food drive with Second Harvest allows SouthEast Bank to deepen its ties to the local area. Brenda Arndt, Marketing Director for SouthEast Bank, believes that community outreach is at the heart of the bank’s values.

“It is our honor to give back to the community that supports us,” Arndt says. “SouthEast Bank holds these events to get to know those around us and to aid those in need.”

As a Knoxville native, Trevor Bayne understands the importance of supporting local charities. Bayne encourages people to come out, enjoy the event, and donate to a worthy cause.

“This food drive gives the community a chance to be a part of the positive change Second Harvest is spreading in our area with their efforts,” Bayne says. “Together, with SouthEast Bank, we can all join the fight against food insecurity.”
