Good to Know: Karen Carter, Dayton Branch Supervisor

Creating an outstanding banking experience begins with a strong team, and we at SouthEast Bank pride ourselves on making every experience with us a personal one. That’s why we care about introducing you to the special team members you’ll see in our branches every day, like Karen Carter.

Karen’s banking experience runs nearly as deep as her Rhea County roots. Born and raised in this community, Karen remains an active member of her local church, the We Care Community Center, and St. Jude Hospital. She has worked in the banking industry for 44 years, and came to SouthEast Bank when the Dayton branch opened 21 years ago, excited to work for an institution that valued and respected the local community.

“My favorite memories of working in the branch are the memories I share with my coworkers that I’ve worked with for over 30 years,” says Karen. “We came from another bank and opened this branch together.”

In all of that time working shoulder-to-shoulder, Karen and the Dayton branch team have come to think of each other as more than coworkers. “I am proud that I have a team of workers that are like my family as well.”

Karen’s commitment to family may extend to her SouthEast Bank team, but she is most proud of the family she’s built with husband Jesse, including six children and nine grandchildren, as well as a few farm animals!

“When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren at their ballgames or activities they are in. Or I am at home on our farm with our many cows and chickens.”

Under her leadership, our local branch are regular participants in a number of local events, including the Strawberry Festival, Rhea County Hospital Fun Day, Halloween Fest, and more.

Karen’s generous spirit keeps her busy, but we at SouthEast Bank are grateful to be one of the places she calls home. Now that you’ve gotten to know a little bit more about her, we hope you’ll take the opportunity to introduce yourself the next time you visit us in Dayton!
