We invest in the up-and-coming leaders of our communities by fostering foundational skills and opening doors to opportunity. Under that mission, our donations have added up to more than $25 million to support primary, secondary, and post-secondary education in Middle and East Tennessee in the last decade. We’re especially proud to continue our particular aim to foster student potential to and through college by expanding one of our pillar programs: SEB Scholars.
Through SEB Scholars, SouthEast Bank partners directly with colleges and universities in Tenessesee to provide financial assistance to students from financially vulnerable circumstances in the communities we serve. This way, the SEB Scholars program ensures fewer obstacles on a student’s journey toward academic success.
SEB Scholars funding is currently available at the following institutions:
- Bryan College
- Cleveland State Community College
- Johnson University
- Lee University
- Pellissippi State Community College
- Southern Adventist University
- Tennessee Wesleyan University
- UT Chattanooga
- UT Knoxville
To learn more about eligibility requirements for applying to and utilizing funds from SEB Scholars, please consult your chosen school’s Financial Aid department.
Our investment in education also extends to local organizations that provide resources and support for the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students and their families. Keep scrolling to learn more about our donations to key wraparound supports in our communities.
Bolstering Community Builders
SouthEast Bank believes that education and economic mobility go hand-in-hand, which is why we balance our local investment with additional support to nonprofits and organizations that serve low and moderate-income communities (LMI) with affordable housing development, homeowner education, and overall financial literacy. Our giving also supports job training, networking events, and other professional development opportunities for new residents and rising entrepreneurs among LMI communities.
With these resources, more Tennesseans will access safe and sustainable housing, retain and create jobs, and begin building generational wealth.

What Our Community Partners Are Saying:

Helping Mamas aims to create those opportunities, and when organizations like SouthEast Bank rally behind our efforts, it makes an incredible impact.”
Tess Frear, Executive Director of Helping Mamas

“Through SouthEast Bank’s gifts of time, talent, and treasures, we are able to feed our neighbors and inspire hope again.”
